About Us
North Mid Frew is a well-established Scottish farmhouse dating
from the late 1700's, set in unspoilt fertile farmland,
recently refurbished to a high standard and extended to include
our family house with a distinctive tower commanding panoramic
views of the countryside. The property is painted in the traditional
shade of yellow favoured by many of the surrounding estates.
The Cottage comprises the original farmhouse with its own
private entrance and front door, accommodating four to five
people in modern, well-equipped rooms furnished in a traditional
style. Some of the furnishings and pictures were collected
during the 10 years we spent in Eastern Europe prior to our
return home to Scotland. Internet access is available.
The outbuildings to the north of the cottage are home to
a gallery displaying a small collection of interesting classic
cars, including a Rolls-Royce dating from 1932 which is offered for use on a chauffeur-driven
basis on special occasions such as weddings. We provide exclusive
access to the collection for guests renting our self-catering
accommodation. This could include being met at the airport
in a classic car, a view of the local countryside from the
back seat of a vintage Rolls-Royce, or photographic opportunities
with the car of your choice.
As noted above, our house adjoins the Cottage and we are
usually available to assist with matters requiring local knowledge,
advice on excursions and recommendations for shopping, restaurants
and places of historical interest. We are also available to
clarify any aspects of the operation and use of the cottage.
To make your visit as easy and enjoyable as possible we shall
be pleased to undertake initial shopping for provisions to
carry you through the first day or two of your stay.
