Central Scotland provides a wide range
of leisure and sporting activities subject only to the
season of the year and your own interests and available
energy. Within a short drive of Thornhill
you can choose from:

Outside these, the sky's the limit - there is even a grass
airstrip for micro-light aircraft and balloons at a farm two
miles west of us, and Scotland's ski centres are all within
two to three hours' drive of our cottage.
For less energetic pursuits and sightseeing, the next page
suggests many places of interest to visit that will keep you
busy in all weathers, not only on your presently planned visit
but on any number of return trips to our locality.
There is adequate storage accomodation in our outbuildings
for sports equipment, whether this is a set of golf clubs
or a sailing dinghy on a trailer. Clothes drying facilities
are also available.
In Stirling and the many villages throughout the neighbourhood
of Thornhill, there is an excellent choice of pubs and restaurants
to visit if you don't feel like cooking an evening meal. So
if you arrive back cold and weary, after a hot bath or shower
you will be ready to sample the delights of the local cuisine.
